Proved in open Court by the Oaths of Joseph Hightower Esqr & Isaac Mathews ~~ April Term 1791 & ordered to Recorded.
INTERPRETATION OF WILL:
Peter Day does not mention a wife. He has 4 children: Joseph Day, Sarah Hitt, Anne Bennett, and Rebeckah Jones. Daughter Rebeckah Jones is to have during her lifetime the use of a slave bequeathed to granddaughter Mary Jones. Presumably Mary Jones is the daughter of Rebeckah Jones. Daughter Anne Bennett is to have during her lifetime the use of a slave bequeathed to granddaughter Charlotte Rogers. Presumably Charlotte is the daughter of Anne by a previous husband with surname Rogers.
