TOMBSTONE:

Parts are easy to read, and parts are difficult to read. The year of death is small and squeezed against the edge of the stone and is especially hard to read. The tombstone arguably reads

"Thomas Kaple Died. Aug. The 14 1801 AGD 86"

Find-a-Grave Memorial #192558339 states, without evidence, that Thomas Kaple was born in 1715 in County Kilkenny, Ireland.

MARRIAGE:

6/11/2020: at familysearch.org no vital records for North Stonington, Connecticut are available before 1758. However, the marriage is recorded in "Connecticut, U.S., Church Record Abstracts, 1630-1920", Volume 083 North Stonington at ancestry.com. It is said to be on page 76 of Volume 1.

General Notes: Wife - Jane Dixon

Find-a-Grave states, without evidence, that Jane Dixon Kaple was born 4 May 1719 in Ireland. A second, presumably later, gravestone reads "JANE KAPLE 1719 -- 1821". The older stone reads

"J. Kaple Di. Mar. 29 1821 AG. 102 ys."

AGE:

The following story is in Parker in America on page 459. It may or may not be true.

Dimmis Kaple had two bros.--Aruna and Bela. Bela was a free thinker. Her gr.-mo. lived to be 104 years old. On the day she was 100 years old she spun one run of flax thread, weighing one and one-fifth ounces, and sent it to the governor of New York, who had an account of it published in the papers. She was from Ireland.

The Niles' Weekly Register was published weekly in Baltimore, Maryland. The following appeared on the back page (page 144) of the April 28, 1821 editon in a section entitled CHRONICLE:

Died, at Cooper's Town, N. Y. Mrs Jane Kaple, aged one hundred and two years. She, with the rest of her family, emigrated to this country and landed at Boston in 1729.
