GUARDIAN:
Guardianship papers for Eve Hitt are in Box 85, Package 27 (image 1164/1234) of Laurens Co. Estate Papers. They can be seen online at familysearch.org.
On March 7, 1833 Martin Ball, Lewis Ball, and John Ball are bound unto David Anderson, ordinary of Laurens District, South Carolina, in the amount of $60 in order to guarantee that Martin Ball will faithfully perform his duties as guardian of Eve Hitt during her minority.
On November 27, 1833 John Hitt, administrator on the estate of Lazarus Hitt, dec'd., paid to Martin Ball, guardian, $48.09, that amount being the full amount of Evy Hitt's part as legatee of the said estate.
LEGACY:
On August 25, 1826 John Hitt, adminstrator of the estate of Lazarus Hitt, dec'd, reported the amounts which he had distributed to the legatees. He said, "Eve a Daughter of said deceased also A Minor Intitled to the sum of $30.83 -- which Money I have ready to pay over to any person intitled to have the same by Law."
