Almost everything on the photograph of Mary's tombstone at Find-a-Grave is easily readable, but her birth year could be 1823 or 1828. Find-a-Grave says 1823, but 1828 is more nearly compatible with the 1850 and 1860 censuses and with the ages of Thomas and Emodela in the 1880 census entry for her son Samuel, with whom she is living.
