General Notes: Husband - Jesse Grinstead
The marriage records of Barren Co., Kentucky show that a Jesse Grinstead married Anna M. Gadberry July 20, 1814. Who is he? He could reasonably be a son of old Jesse Grinstead who moved from Barren Co. to Hart Co. sometime between 1810 and 1820, although he could also be a nephew. Jesse has an available slot for him in the 1810 census. Assume he is a son. He cannot be found in 1820 or later. He is presumably the Jesse Grinstead whose estate was inventoried in April 1816. Since he married in July 1814, he did not live long enough to have more than one (or at most two) children.
In the 1840 census in Hart Co. there is a Jesse Grinstead, 20-30, with a wife, a young son, and a young daughter. It is reasonable to conjecture that he was born to Jesse and Anna before Jesse (and maybe also Anna) died. If both of them died, then their child would probably have been taken in by relatives. He may be the male child <10 in the 1820 census for old Jesse and the male child 10-15 in the 1830 census for Jesse's widow Lucy. That child cannot be a son of Jesse and Lucy because they are too old.
See further notes under Jesse and Anna's son Jesse.

The total seems to be $417.75. The results of the sale were reported to the May Court. Anna Grinstead bought numerous household items.

pg 13 & 14: Jesse Grinstead, Jr. ( --1816) MARRIED 7-20-1814 Annie Gadbury ( -- )
"Annie was daughter of Wm. Gadbury of Richmond VA. Jesse was born in Virginia; married and died in Barren County KY. It is said that he served in the War of 1812. So far as we can determine there was just one child, a son, Jessie Boles Grinstead."
