Galen E. Hines Dies at Age of 84 Years
Galen E. Hines, 84, of 204 Packard street, died at 9 a. m. Thursday at Brokaw hospital. He had been ill only a short time.
The funeral will be held at 3:30 p. m. Friday at the West Olive Methodist Episcopal church. Burial will take place Sunday at Somerset, Ky.
Mr. Hines was born July 18, 1854, at Somerset, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hines. His wife, the former Miss Elizabeth Meece, died in 1926.
Surviving are nine children, Mrs. Mertie Hamilton and Mrs. Addie Waddle, Alcalde, Ky.; John, Everett and Clarence, Towanda; Charles and Joseph, Bloomington; Mrs. Anna Colyer, Bloomington, and Mrs. Bessie Marfell, Peoria; 28 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
He was affiliated with the Baptist church.

"Mrs. Elizabeth Hines Is Claimed by Death
Mrs. Elizabeth Hines, wife of G. E. Hines, died at the Brokaw Hospital yesterday morning at 5:15 o'clock, where she had been a medical patient since Friday night.
Mrs. Hines spent her entire life on a farm near Somerset, Ky., with the exception of the last two years, which were spent with her son, Charles, 203 Packard Street.
Besides her husband she is survived by the following children; Mrs. B. F. Hamilton, in Kentucky; Mrs. William Waddle of Kentucky; John, Everett and Clarence, of Towanda; Mrs. William Marfell, of Peoria; Charles, Joe and Mrs. Virgil Colyer of this city. She also leaves 21 grandchildren. Mrs. Hines was a member of the Baptist Church in Kentucky.
The funeral party will leave tonight at 2:15 o'clock via the Big Four for Somerset, Ky., where burial will be made.
