MARRIAGE:

Marriage Register 1: 1799 -- 1874 in the County Clerk's Office in Somerset, Kentucky is a handwritten copy of an earlier book. On stamped page 128 in the copy we find what was on page 131 in the original book. On page 128 the following entry is among a list of marriages performed between September 12, 1833 and February 9, 1836 by Joseph M. James:

Louis Ping & Nancy Hill this 5 of February 1835

The original book exists and in May 2009 a deputy county clerk sent me a copy of page 131. The ink is not faded and the handwriting is easily readable. It reads:
