Nicholas Mercer probably died before 1837 because he is not mentioned in the following deed:

On January 21, 1837 John Bond and Mary Ann, his wife, sold to Allen R. West, Archibald Hinds, John B. Hinds, and Sarah Mercer for $600 all their right and claim to the estate both real and personal and mixed which belonged to them by virtue of the last will of Joseph Hinds, dec'd. (Bk G, pgs 171-72)

LAND:

On January 21, 1837 John Bond and Mary Ann, his wife, sold to Allen R. West, Archibald Hinds, John B. Hinds, and Sarah Mercer for $600 all their right and claim to the estate both real and personal and mixed which belonged to them by virtue of the last will of Joseph Hinds, dec'd. (Bk G, pgs 171-72) John Bond's wife is Marian Brady. See Joseph Hind's will. On September 27, 1847 John S. Wray paid $178.50 to Sarah Mercer for her interest in the 200 acre tract where her father once lived (Bk K, pgs 215-16). See notes under John S. Wray for details.

DEATH DATE:

On September 27, 1847 Sarah Mercer executed a deed to John S. Wray (Bk K, pgs 215-16), and on March 20, 1848, one of her sons, R. C. Mercer, sold all of his interest in the estate of Joseph Hinds to Archibald Hinds. (Bk K, pg 179). Presumably she died between those two dates.
