SONS:
A December 29, 1796 deed (14/285) states that Joseph and James Akin are sons of William. See notes under Francis Lockett. In an April 1791 deed (12/35) William Akin gives his son Arthur 100 acres. William's will also identifies his sons. It is probable that he had a son William who predeceased his father. On April 7, 1758 the court in Chesterfield Co. ordered that Thomas Rudd, William Akin and son William, and John Farmer, or any 3 of them, appraise the slaves and personal estate of William Locket, dec'd. See Chesterfield Co. Order Book No. 2, pg 394 (LDS microfilm 30908). On October 4, 1751 the court ordered that a group of men including William Akin and William Akin Jun'r do work on the road of which William Locket was surveyor. See Order Book No. 1, pg 148 (LDS 30908).
