In 1880 Alice Hitt was living with her son Alfred in Smith Co., Texas on June 1. She died before the census was taken on June 19.

Sumter Co., Alabama Orphans' Court Minutes, Vol 6, pg 386; October 4, 1849:

Elijah Truelove, a minor aged eighteen years and heir of Ransom Truelove, deceased, asks the court to make Alfred Hitt his guardian. The court complies. Alfred Hitt has given bond in the sum of $200 with Henry Altman and Matthew C. Houston securities.
