General Notes: Wife - Harriett Sadler
It is not clear what Harriett's maiden name was. I have chosen 'Sadler' because in 1870 she is living with Jeremiah Sadler, who is about the right age to be her brother.
Contrary to the claim of Myers and Phillips, Benjamin A. Hitt's second wife is not Marshall Hitt's daughter Harriett. In 1880 she is 44 years old, single, and living with her brother Austin.
