CENSUS:

In 1850 Lewis Hitt (9, Al) is living in Sumter Co., Alabama, Gaston Division, in the household of his aunt Sarah D. Daniel and her husband Samuel D. Daniel.

AGE:

On November 29, 1849 Moore Stephens was appointed to be his guardian (6/442). He was then 8 years old. See notes under his father.

DEATH:

On September 12, 1853 in conjunction with a partial settlement of the estate of Benjamin B. Hitt Moore Stephens reported that Lewis Hitt died in infancy leaving no debts and no heirs (7/617).
