General Notes: Wife - Anna Parker
Some researchers think that Anna Parker is a daughter of James Parker by his first wife. James's ancestry is Elijah, James, Samuel where Samuel is the great-grandfather of Artemas Howe's first wife Fanny Parker.
That is unlikely. Fanny Howe died in April 1819. The 1820 census indicates that Artemas is married, so he married Anna in late 1819 or early 1820. In fact a newspaper announcement indicates that the marriage took place in April 1820. There is substantial evidence that James Parker left New York and settled in Campbell Co., Kentucky in 1817, roughly 3 years before the marriage of Artemus and Anna. It would be strange for James to leave an unmarried daughter in New York when he and the family moved to Kentucky. Anna was born about 1798. In 1810 there were 18 Parker households in Otsego Co., and six of them had a daughter 10-15. There were other men who could have been Anna's father.

COMMENT:
The following comment is at Find-a-Grave Memorial # 113530704:
This should be Anna (Parker)(Howe) Holmes, the 2nd wife of Calvin Holmes of Westford, NY. Via the 1865 NY census, Anna was born in 1797 in Otsego county, NY. In almost certain probability she was born in Westford. She would be the 2nd wife of Artemus Howe (1777 - 1849). As Anna Howe, she is found in the 1850 census living alone in Westford, Otsego, NY. On 23 Mar 1853, she married Calvin Holmes and is found in Westford in the 1860 and 1865 census. In 1865, she lists that she had 3 children and via her age, these would be children of Artemus Howe. After Calvin Holmes' death in 1869, her son-in-law, Leander Roberts, husband to Fanny (Howe) Roberts is stated to have brought her to Illinois. As to exactly when she died, that is still unknown.
Calvin Holmes was born April 29 1796 married first Mary Kelso July 18 1819 and second Anna Howe March 23 1853 He died March 20 1869 in Westford NY.
