James R. Reese is the Bedford Co., Virginia personal property tax list for the first time in 1822. He is absent in 1823 and then is in the list continuously until 1830. Sometimes he has a horse; sometimes he doesn't. In 1830 he owns a slave. He probably moved from Virginia to Tennessee in about 1831. Unlike his brothers he lives in both the northern and the southern district.
