14273-4. xii. Preserved Strong (son of Jedediah Strong and Freedom Woodward) b. March 29, 1680, m. Oct. 23, 1701, Tabitha Lee b. in 1677-8 (dau. of John Lee of Farmington, Ct., and Mary Hart dau. of Stephen Hart). It was the widow of this John Lee (Mrs. Mary Lee), that his father Jedediah Strong m. Jan. 5, 1692, as his third wife. He removed from Northampton to Lebanon, Ct., in 1714, and after 1720 to Coventry, Ct., and was one of the selectmen of Coventry, in 1730, '31, '34, and '35. He d. Sept. 26, 1765, æt. 85: she d. June 23, 1750, æt. 72. He is said to have received his name from the fact that he was born in a great snow storm and preserved alive notwithstanding its severity.

18351-2. vi. Mary Strong b. at Northampton, June 10, 1714. Believed by the author (but not certainly known) to have been the Mary Strong who m. March 3, 1743, Thomas Ritter b. July, 1715 (son of Daniel Ritter and Lydia Bailey, of Newburyport). She d. July 9, 1754, at E. Hartford, Ct., æt. 40. He was a farmer, glazier and stone cutter in Rowley, Mass. Their children were: Elizabeth, Moses, Lydia, Ezra, and Ann, if not others also. Mr. Thomas Ritter the grandfather, came from Germany.
