On February 1, 1916 M. P. Huddleston & M. E. Huddleston, his wife, sold to R. L. Parker for $800 in cash a tract in Greene Co. consisting of SE 1/4 of NE 1/4 and NE 1/4 of SE 1/4 of Section 30, T16N R5E. (57/190)

On April 6, 1936 R. L. Parker & Ruby Z. Parker, his wife, sold to J. A. Huffine for $450 ($50 in cash; several payments at 6%) the same tract that they bought in 1916. (74/283) The lien was released December 5, 1940 by Ruby Z. Parker, individually and as the executrix of the estate.

Robert L. Parker, age 68, of West Baldwin street, an employee of George Cowley's blacksmith shop, died at 5:15 Sunday morning at the Dickson Memorial hospital of injuries he sustained at 5:45 Saturday afternoon when struck by an automobile allegedly driven by Raymond Grimes of the Shiloh community, on Kingshighway a short distance west of the blacksmith shop, which is located at the Corner of Second and Kingshighway.
Mr. Parker, was was crossing the highway to get into the truck of Frank Bacon, a neighbor, to go to supper suffered a compound fracture of his right arm above the elbow, the bone piercing through the flesh, five broken ribs on his right side, which punctured his right lung, and a three-inch cut on the left side of his head. He was given medical attention by Drs. J. J. Hudgins and Earle D. McKelvey.
Coroner Ray Little conducted a coroner's inquest yesterday morning at the Randal L. Mitchell Funeral Parlor where the body was prepared for burial. The coroner's jury returned a verdict of "unavoidable accident," exonerating Mr. Grimes. Members of the coroner's jury were Reginald Dover, Robert Bradley, T. R. Gregory, W. R. Weatherly, N. E. Williams and Tom Seats.
Witnesses examined at the hearing were Mr. and Mrs. Grimes, J. F. Guiltner, Jr., and Charles Boone, employes of the Quality Service Station, near the scene of the accident, and Woodrow Brashers, passenger of a car that was at the stop sign at the corner of Second and Kingshighway.
Evidence presented to the jury indicated that neither Mr. Parker nor Mr. Grimes saw the other until about the time of the accident. It was raining and foggy at the time. Mr. Grimes was not traveling at an excessive rate of speed. Mr. Parker's body was under the machine when it was stopped. Both the Bacon truck and the Grimes automobile were headed west and Mr. Parker was walking in a northwesterly direction, it was stated. Night Patrolman Coy Reeks made an investigation, but made no arrests. The injured man was removed to the hospital in a Mitchell ambulance.
A native of Adams county, Missouri, Mr. Parker had resided in Paragould over a period of many years. He returned to this city about two years ago from Poplar Bluff. He formerly resided in Little Rock and Hot Springs. At one time he was employed at the local Missouri Pacific shops.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon from the family residence and burial will be made in Linwood cemetery.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ruby Parker, three sisters, Mrs. M. P. Rhew, Mrs. Mary Brown and Mrs. Lida Rhew of Anderson, Tex.; and three brothers, Dr. M. E. Parker of Anderson, Texas, Harry Parker of Rockwell, Texas and Lewis Parker of Hassell, N. M.
