LAND:

On April 3, 1815 Thomas Logwood of Bedford Co. sells to John Wharton of the same place for $3000 a tract of 247 acres, more or less, in Bedford Co. on the north fork of Otter River, including the mill. It begins on the river just below the mill. The description mentions the head of Wm. Kerr's branch and the lower end of Thomas Kerr's field. (14/301)

According to the grantee index to deeds John Wharton made 3 other purchases:

1796 10/190 469 acres on both sides of north fork of Otter River
1801 11/438 278 acres on north and south forks of Otter River
