June 1, 1694 -- Mr. Tho: Edwards aged 25 years & Mr. Edw'd Osborne aged ab't 48 years & John Pattison aged ab't 58 years deposeth saith that this day they found floating in the River near to Harry Hadox Swamp a man w'ch they suppos'd to be a seaman belonging to the ship called Perrye Lane now riding in James River . . .

In the name of god amen I Edward Osborn of Henrico County in the parish of Varina being Sick and Weak in body but in health in mind thanks be to almighty god Doe make & appoint this my last will & testament

First I bequeath my soul to god who gave it me & my Body to be buried according to the discresion of my Executor whom I shall appoint and after my just debts paid I give and bequeath my estate in manner & form as followeth

Secondly I give and bequeath unto my son Edward Osborn all my land in Generall to him and his heires forever, and one negro woman named Moll with her increase Excepting the first child she bringeth wch I give to my Daughter Martha Osborne and one Negro boy named Tom to my Son Edward aforesd and three Cows not above six years old and one heifer of three years old, and two Steers of three years old apeice. Also two feather beds & furniture and one square musled gunn with a french lock and my little gunn, and two younge sows with pigg and one pott of four or five gallons and one small pott of two gallons & an half both Iron potts with hooks and one pair of Runing Iron Racks and my best Chest with lock & Key, and two horses one of Seven years and the other three and three large & two small deep puter dishes & ten plates of pewter & four Ewes and two new calfskin Chairs & one brass Skimmer & Ladle and one Coller harnes & Cart saddle wch Estate & ______ I appoint him to be ______ with all at ye age of nineteen years.

Thirdly I give and bequeath unto my daughter Martha Osborne two Cows & a heifer of two years old and one steer of four years old and two Ewes and three deep puter dishes and one feather bed & old Rugg & blankett halfworn & one Great Chest with Lock & Key and a small new Chest with Lock & Key

Fourthly & Lastly I appoint my Son in law Benjamin Branch my whole & full Exec'r Comitting the tuishion of my two children Edward & Martha to him ye sd Branch & his wife till such time as they come to age, the sd Edward at nineteen and Martha at sixteen or married at which time above said I appoint they shall have their Estates above said paid them In Wittness that this is my last will and testament I have hereunto Set my hand this sixth day of January one thousand six hundred and ninety six

General Notes: Wife - Tabitha Platt

From BRANCHIANA (James Branch Cabell; 1907), pg 122:

About 1675, Edward Osborne of Henrico married, as previously recorded, Tabitha Platt, the daughter of Gilbert Platt of "Fauldinge." Tabitha Platt Osborne was born about 1660, and died between the years 1692 and 1695, being survived by her husband. To him, as recorded, she had borne two daughters and a son.
