OBITUARY:

Elizabeth "Peanuts" Baker, 93, of Amarillo died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church in Claude with Dick Gravley officiating. Burial will be in Claude Cemetery in Claude. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.

Elizabeth was born May 16, 1919, in Claude to Neal and Lizzy Collins, a pioneer family of Armstrong County. She married Clem Benton Baker in August 1935. Elizabeth was a member of Order of The Eastern Star 760, where she was an organist. Peanuts, as many people knew her, enjoyed spending time with her family and going to church. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Claude. Elizabeth retired from the USDA Branch ASCS. She also was a past president of Claude Business Club. Later, Elizabeth married Orville Bennett.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and both of her husbands.

Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Baker Thomas and husband Prentice of Canyon; a son, Richard Daniel Baker of Amarillo; her nieces, Imogene, Lou Jean and Elizabeth Rae; a nephew, Horace Neal; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
