As of July 18, 1885 $370 has been distributed to D. N. Norton and wife, Jonnie Norton, heir of John Rees, dec'd, and ward of J. L. Bryant, dec'd. This distribution is from the estate of John's father.

According to Find-a-Grave Memorial # 159504195 he died 9 Dec 1864 in the Battle of Franklin in Williamson Co., Tennessee. "He was mortally wounded in the Battle of Franklin. It has been stated that his wife went and got him and took him home for burial. This would likely now be Moore Co., TN. I have not located this at this point."
