Find-a-Grave Memorial # 9199235:

Wife of William Loflin Walker who was the son of John H. Walker. They were married on April 23, 1825 in Lincoln County, Georgia. Children: Rebecca Naomi, b. 19 July 1829, married Thomas Henry Swords; William V. b. June 1835, married Mary Ann Camp; Anna Mariah, b. 1837, married Hugh Tomlinson.

Daughter of Hugh Rees and Elizabeth Newsome.
She died due to complications of childbirth.

DIED, in Walton County, Georgia on the 6 ultimo, Mrs. Mahala Walker, wife of William L. Walker and Hugh and Elizabeth Rees, of Columbia County in the 43 yr. of her age. Mrs. W. has left an infant daughter a few hours old, five children and a husband to mourn their loss; but they have the consolation that their loss is her infinite gain. She died in hope of a blessed immortality. In early life, became a member of the Baptist Church, and retained her integrity til the last.
"Why should we mourn departed friends, or shake at death's alarms;
Tis but the voice that Jesus sends, to call them to his arms."

FATHER'S WILL:

In her father's will written in 1823 Mahala is not mentioned in a list of his children.
