Services for Bro. Marshall Southerland Jr., 81, of Canton, TX, are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday May 29, 2010 at Jackson Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Steve Glosup, Bro. Chris Driver, Bro. David Southerland officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton.

Burial will be in Tarver Cemetery, Van Zandt County, TX.
He passed away May 26, 2010 in Athens, TX.
Bro. Southerland was born January 1, 1929 in Dallas, TX, to Marshall Omah and Sallie Louise Waldron Southerland, Sr.

Marshall Southerland was an Ordained Minister, married 61 years to his lovely wife Faye. Graduated from Streetman High School in Streetman, TX. He attained his Bachelor of Arts degree at Hardin Simmons University and a Bachelor of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Tx. He was a member of the Hardin Simmons Cowboy Band where he played the tuba. He loved his church work where he pastored both in Texas and Oklahoma and was presently interim at Jackson Missionary Baptist Church near Canton where he also pastored in the early 90's. Marshall was President of the Southeast Dallas Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Board at the Southeast Methodist Hospital, Board of Directors at the Methodist Hospital, He had a gift for teaching and taught a Radio Bible Study with KCKL and he enjoyed the outdoors.
Marshall was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dr. Arthur Southerland.

Faye Allene Southerland passed away June 14, 2019, at the age of 90. She was born April 30, 1929, in Crawford, TX, to William Henry Reese and Margarette (Hancock) Reese. Faye lived in Canton, TX for almost 20 years before moving to Rockwall, TX, where she resided for over 7 years. She attended Hardin-Simmons University where she met her late husband, Marshall O. Southerland. Faye was a homemaker for many years, but went back to school in her 40's to be a teacher for Kindergarten and 1st Grade, where she impacted the lives of many children. She enjoyed attending Women's Bible Study (BSF), fishing and cooking, and was a talented artist. Faye attended Ridgeview Church of Rockwall.
Faye is survived by her daughters: Kay Roe and husband John of Rockwall, TX, and Debra Uhl and husband Gary of Frisco, TX; daughter-in-law: Carolyn Southerland of Tyler, TX; grandchildren: Nathan Southerland and wife Debbie of Roundrock, TX, Jason Roe and wife Deidra of Rockwall, TX, Carrie Flemming and husband Erik of Anderson, SC, Dr. Angela Frost and husband Jonathan of Pearland, TX, and Daniel Southerland and wife Le'Anne of Tyler, TX; great grandchildren: Alex, Cara, Noah, Libby, Caroline, Ellie, Baylee, and Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her husband: Marshall O. Southerland; son: David M. Southerland; and her parents.
