Louiza was the daughter of Orin Bangs and Elizabeth Casey. She first married William Cartwright. They had a daughter, Nancy Jane Cartwright. Louiza's second husband was Joshua Mayberry Beckham. They were married in 1865 in Izard, now Stone County, Arkansas. They had two children: Generah Catherine and Richard Franklin.
