DEATH DATE:
The widow of Louis Delisle appears frequently in the parish records of Kaskaskia, Illinois ("La population des forts français d'Amérique (XVIIIe siècle)", Marthe F. Beauregard, Vol 2). She is referred to in various ways. The earliest clear reference to her as a widow is 10 May 1760 in which she is called 'la veuve Delisle'. On January 1, 1760 she is referred to as Marie Vincenne Delisle, which might indicate that she was not yet a widow on that date; however, on June 2, 1760 she is referred to as Marie Vincennes Delisle. I think that it is highly likely that her husband had died by May 1760.
