The deed of February 21, 1797 establishes that Mary is a duaghter of Richard Pace and that she married James Rhodes. See notes under her father for details.

On March 3, 1794 James Baker of Edgefield Co. mortgages a Negro boy named John to George Delaughter. Witnesses are James Rhodes and John Hitt. (Edgefield Co., South Carolina Deed Records 11/115, image 483/639)
