Levi Hinds does not seem to be in the 1830 census.

In 1840 Levi Hinds and his wife are living in Madison Co., Alabama with their son Levi.

In 1850 Hulda Hines (78, NC) is living in Marshall Co., Alabama in the household of her daughter Cloey (56) and her husband Salomon Fry (59).

In 1860 Hulda Hines (88, NC) is living in Madison Co., Alabama in the household of her son Levi Hinds (55).


BIRTH YEAR:

Based on the census Levi was born in 1770. Based on the order of children in his father's will he was born before Simeon, who is said to have been born 11 Apr 1769. We will say that Levi was born in about 1768.

On the Petition of Huldah Hinds Widow of Levi Hinds deceased against Levi Hinds Administrator of Levi Hinds Senior late of said County deceased for her Dower in the Lands of which Levi Hinds dec'd died seized and possessed and which is described in said petition as the East half Quarter of Section Six Township four Range Two East Containing Eighty acres also her Dower in the personal Estate of said decedant in the County and State aforesaid all of which she is entitled to Dower and the said Administartor having served notice of said Petition and appearing before said Court and maming no defence or objection to the prayor of said Petitioner it is now ordered and decreed that a writ of Dower be isued accordingly and returnable to the next term of this Court thereafter &c

The following on pages 557-58 (images 1835-36 in Volumes 6-9) is neatly written on prelined paper and is probably a copy of a previous record. The list of heirs is different from the list on page 75 (image 48/604 in Volumes 10-11) and several lists in images 455-494/1056 in "Loose records Rebecca Hilliard - Isham Hobbs", all at familyearch.org. The clearest list of heirs is probably in Huldah Hinds's request for dower on image 475/1056 in the loose records. See below. The lists on 455/1056 and on 474/1056 appear to be in chronological birth order. 472/1056 is a continuation of 474/1056.

OBITUARY:

This is from an undated clipping from an unknown newspaper at Find-a-Grave Memorial # 182643763. The quality of the image is poor, but 96, 7, and 17 are clearly legible. If Huldah died 25 Jul 1868, as is claimed by the memorial, then she was born 8 Dec 1771.

DIED
On the 25th ult. at the residence of Levi Hinds, E q. Mrs HULDAH HINDS, aged 96 years, 7 months and 17 days. She had been an ______ member of the Baptist Church for 51 years, and had resided in Madison County for 60 years. In all the relations of life, she was a true woman and exemplary christian. She has gone to receive her reward in heaven.
