LAND IN LAURENS CO., SOUTH CAROLINA:

On December 10, 1808 Abner Hitt of Laurens District sold to Moses Curnal of Laurens District for $275 a tract of 50 acres on Bank's Creek. Moses Curnal mortgaged it twice (J/237, April 25, 1811; K/11, October 28, 1812) and then on March 29, 1814 he sold it to William Chiles for $170 (K/57). His wife Lucy relinquished her dower rights on April 6. Both of the mortgages imply that Moses Curnal had sold a portion of the 50 acres to Benjamin Hitt.
