The following information at Find-a-Grave Memorials # 183053963 and # 181384700 is not associated with tombstones. It may or may not be correct. Based on the census the birth date 1785 is not correct.

Greenberry Chaney was born 1785 ca. in Russell County, Virginia. He married Charlotta Connaway. Greenberry passed away before 1835 in Shelby Creek, Kentucky. The 1820 Floyd County, Kentucky census taken on August 7, 1820, lists Greenberry Chaney with the following: 2 males under age 10 (Thomas was 1 son), 1 male aged 10-15, 1 male aged 45 & over (Greenberry), and 1 female aged 26-44 (Charlotta, his wife) This was likely the part of Floyd County later becoming part of Pike County, Kentucky. There is not much information on Greenberry other than we can conclude that he died before 1835, as his wife, Charlotta married again in 1835 in Pike County, Kentucky.

Charlotte married first Greenberry Chaney. They had a son together, Thomas Chaney. # 177109126.

She married second in 1835, Pike County KY, George Charles.
Charlotte died in Pike County KY in 1858. Charlotta Connaway was born in 1773.

General Notes: Wife - Charlotta Conaway

Find-a-Grave Memorials # 183053963 and # 181384700 say that Charlotta's maiden name was Conaway. Other sources say that it was Sipple. More research needed.
