MARRIAGE:

In 1860 John Hines, father of Ephraim, and William Watson, father of Catherine, are living in District 1 in Pulaski Co., Kentucky. Ephraim and Catherine presumably met each other in Pulaski Co. By 1870 five of Catherine's siblings are living in Pike Co., Indiana in the household of her older brother Amon Watson even though her parents are still alive. Ephraim and Catherine married in Pike Co. in 1869. They may have remained for a while in Indiana or they may have gone immediately to Kentucky. Neither Ephraim nor his father are in the 1870 census. In 1880 both are living in Pulaski Co.

In 1871 Ephraim's younger brother Thomas J. Hines married Catherine's sister Mary Watson in Pike Co. In 1878 another younger brother John W. Hines married Catherine's sister Nancy F. Watson in Pike Co., and in 1877 Catherine's brother John C. Watson married Ephraim's sister Louisa Hines in Pulaski Co.
