In 1870 J. R. Collins (18, Ar), J. W. Collins (16, Ar), E. Collins (12, Ar), and Mary Collins (6, Ar) are living in Elm Springs, Washington Co., Arkansas in the household of J. Franklin (60, Tn, farmer) and his wife Sarah (40, Tn) at 129/134. Joshua Collins lives close by at 114/117.

MARRIAGE:

I have a facsimile copy of a marriage certificate sent to me by Craig Collins for the marriage of Jesse Collins and Sarah Ward February 16, 1851. The county is not indicated. In "Tennessee, Marriage Records, 1780-2002" at ancestry.com there is a marriage of Jesse Collins and Sarah Thomas on February 9, 1851 in Franklin Co., Tennessee. The license was issued February 8, and they were married on February 9 by J. J. Travis, J. P. F Cty. Franklin Co. is close to Bedford Co. The facsimile copy that I have reads as follows:

"This certifies that the rite of Holy Matrimony was celebrated between Jesse Collins (was bornd July the 12 1825) and Sarah Ward (was bornd September the 15 1829) -- they was married the February the 16 1851."
