We don't have a marriage record for Rachel. Extant marriage records for Crawford Co. begin in about 1877. There are several facts that allow us be confident that H. C. Cradduck's wife Rachel is Rachel McCurdy. First, Rachel McCurdy's age in the 1860 census matches perfectly the birth year (1851) on Rachel Cradduck's tombstone. Rachel McCurdy is not in the 1870 census because her father is missing from the census. In 1870 there is only one other Rachel in Crawford Co. whose age makes it possible for her to be H. C. Cradduck's wife. She was born in 1848.

In 1870 H. C. Craddeck is living with his first wife Elisabeth in the sequence E. Z. Lamb, Zill Coleman, Enas Colmon, Yang Colmon, T. J. Colman, x, H. C. Craddeck, James McCerda (29), T. J. McCerda (23), J. H. Lamb, x, Matilda Lamb. T. J. McCerda is Rachel's brother and J. H. Lamb is her brother-in-law.

It appears that after his first wife died, H. C. Cradduck married the sister of his neighbor. Rachel's father probably lived nearby.

In 1880 Rachel is still living near relatives.
