For the past year his health had been rapidly declining. Mr. Crumbaugh was one of the city's oldest business men, who retired several years ago because of his advancing age.

He was educated for and entered the Methodist ministry at the age of 22 years, although he left the pulpit a short time later [to] follow a business career. He came to Paducah in 1865 and became a member of the old firm of Fowler-Crumbaugh & Co., dealers in steamboat supplies. He was in this business for 45 years after which the firm was dissolved. Mr. Crumbaugh was a man of fine character and for twenty-five years he was superintendent of the Sunday school of the Broadway Methodist church, of which he was a devoted member.
Mr. Crumbaugh was twice married, his first wife being Miss Alice Mills, daughter of Capt. Mills of Smithland, Ky. His second marriage was to Miss Evelyn Parker, of Somerset, Ky., who died August 24, 1911. He is survived by three daughters and three sons, all of whom were at his bedside at the time of his death, as follows: Mrs. N. S. Walker, of Dyersburg, Tenn., Mrs. George H. goodman and Mrs. J. W. Croach, both of Paducah, Messrs. Thomas Lee Crumbaugh, of Meridian, Miss.; George P. Crumbaugh, of St. Louis; and John M. Crumbaugh, of Paducah.
