"Herr Georg (George) Henckel, preceptor or schoolmaster of Mehrenberg; Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany, father of Anthony Jacob Henckel was born in 1635 probably at Allendorf-ad-Lumbda near Giessen, Germany; died January 29, 1678 at Mehrenberg; married May 2, 1666 at Steinberg, Germany to Anna Eulalia Dentzer (1640-1700) daughter of Othmar and Louisa (Wagner) Dentzer. Parents of six (6) children.
"George Henckel matriculated at Giessen University July 25, 1650, in the fourth class, at the age of 15 years. He became a teacher and was made preceptor of the school at Mehrenberg (near Weilberg) in 1662 where he remained until his death in 1678. He was buried in the Lutheran Church Cemetery at Mehrenberg and his widow who returned with her family to Steinberg, her early home, died there and was buried on March 11, 1770[sic, probably 1700] in the Lutheran Cemetery."

Pohlheim is about 6 km south of Giessen. The locality is more fully known as 'Watzenborn-Steinberg'. The grave markers of Othmar Dentzer and his wife are in the church there.

Anna Maria Dentzer is one of 8 children of Othmar Dentzer and Louisa Wagner. Her birth and death years are estimated as 1640 and 1700. We have a specific baptismal date for all of the other children. They were all baptized at Steinberg in Hesse-Darmstadt between 27 Jan 1628 and 12 Mar 1652.
