pg 131: "John Grinstead (12/1/1841 - 1/21/1915) married 10/7/1865 (1) Marie Louise Grinstead (1/9/1846 - 8/10/1906) m. (2) Amanda J. Crony. No children by either marriage. He served with the 3rd Iowa Cavalry. John and Marie are buried at Dunnesville, IA."

They are buried in Bloomfield, Iowa.
MARRIAGE:
John and Marie Louise were third cousins. Their common great-great-grandfather was John Grinstead who died in 1791 in Henrico Co., Virginia. The two lines of descent are

Jack followed his son John Thompson to the northeast part of Jennings Co., Indiana about 1823. His brother Richard went to Warren Co., Kentucky about 1805. Richard H. went with his father Richard (1788) to the west central part of Jennings Co. sometime before 1840. In about 1850 George Thompson and Richard (1788) along with his son Richard H. left Jennings Co. and went to Davis Co., Iowa. There John and Marie Louise married in 1865.

pg 93: "Marie Louise Grinstead (1/9/1846 - 8/10/1906) married 10/7/1865 Sgt. (Capt.) John G. Grinstead (12/1/1841 - 1/21/1915). they were married at Bloomfield, IA; moved to Washington, DC in 1899. They had no children, except an adopted daughter, "Tatty." He served in Co. A of 3rd Iowa Cavalry. She died at Washington, DC, but both are buried at Bloomfield, IA."
