On December 5, 1766 Benjamin Lockett, Sen'r of Chesterfield Co. doth give unto his daughter Mary Akin one Negro girl named Taibans and her future increase, but Mary is not to be in possession of said Negro during the life of Benjamin and his wife. (Chesterfield Co. Deed Records 5/399)

HUSBANDS:

In 1766 Mary is identified as Mary Akin in a deed in which her father gives her a slave. In 1807 in an affidavit relative to her brother Archibald's service in the War of Independance she is identified as Mary Watkins.
