PARKER in AMERICA:
On page 458 of Parker in America Charles O. Parker lists Abigail among the children of Elijah Parker and Martha Stiles and then he says, "Nabby m. a Newton. Chn.: John, Luther and Calvin (twins), Lucy and Annie."
BIRTH DATE and PLACE:
Charles O. Parker lists the children of Elijah Parker and Martha Stiles in the following order: Patsy, Roxanna, Jerusha, Tabitha, Esther, Elijah, Stiles, Abigail. The first three were born in Coventry, Connecticut. Esther and Elijah were born in Bolton. For these 5 we have exact birth dates from the vital records of the two towns where they were born, and we also have an exact birth date for Stiles. These dates are consistent with the list of Charles O. Parker being in order of age. Thus Abigail is probably the youngest of their children who lived into adulthood. It is natural that Charles O. Parker would not have been aware of children who died in infancy or childhood. Stiles was born in January 1765, probably in Bolton, and Abigail was born in 1767 or 1768. Church records in Belchertown, Massachusetts suggest that Abigail's father Elijah Parker arrived there in 1770 or shortly before. Thus she was probably born in Bolton.
