SURNAME:

John Reese's will identifies his wife as Judy. That her maiden name was 'Palmer' is conjectural. The executors of the will are Judy and "our loving brother Elisha Palmer". Elisha is probably Judy's brother.

John and Judy's son Rev. James Reese had 7 sons. The names that he chose for the middle name of his sons are normally surnames. Presumably the surnames that he chose were surnames of ancestors or relatives or friends. One of his sons was John Palmer Reese.
