She is not in the Slave Schedule. Jane is Joel's widow, and Stephen is his brother, who is a widower. He married in 1857. The first 4 children are presumably Jane's, and Mary is presumably Stephen's. Margaret is probably Joel's older sister.
In 1870 the 3 youngest children, Mary, Sarah, and James, are living in Pulaski Co. in 3 different households. They appear to be orphans. Presumably their mother has died.

In "A History of Pulaski Co., Ky" compiled by Alma Owens Tibbals, there is a Muster Roll of Capt. John C. Lair's Company in the Fourth Regiment of Kentucky Volunteers. Joel Hines, age 21, is a private.
DEATH:
The Courier-Journal (Louisville, Kentucky), Friday, January 28, 1859, pg 3:
Joel Hinds, who was shot by Phillip Cormoney last Monday week, died on Tuesday about twelve o'clock. Cormoney has been tried before the examining court (Judge D. H. Denice), and John Lay, accused of aiding and abetting, was tried at the same time. Cormoney was committed and Lay discharged. The trial lasted nearly three days.
