General:
It is commonly stated that Edmund Logwood married Jane Eke. I have been unable to find any documentary evidence from the period. Benjamin B. Weisiger III has compiled 3 volumes of abstracts from the order books of Henrico Co. from 1677 to 1750. I can find no mention of persons named 'Eke'.

There is at http://baptisthistoryhomepage.com/jeter.jeremiah.b.taylor.html a sketch of the life of Jeremiah Bell Jeter, an early Baptist pastor and writer. His mother was Jane Eke Hatcher. "Her father, after whom this son was named, was Jeremiah Hatcher, a Baptist preacher, whose ministry was spent in eastern Virginia, Tomahawk Church, in Chesterfield County, having been one of his churches."

That Jeremiah Hatcher and his wife Edith Logwood named one of their children Jane Eke Hatcher gives credence to the claim that her mother was Jane Eke.
