General:
A John Emarine married a Catharine Emerine in Jefferson Co., Ohio on March 14, 1815. They are probably Eliza's parents. Eliza was born before the marriage date. It might be that Eliza was born January 2, 1816, exactly one year later than the date on her tombstone. She was probably born in Ohio although she said 3 times in the census that she was born in Kentucky. She said once that she was born in Ohio.
