On August 3, 1906 J. H. Grimes and his wife H. U. Grimes gave a square 168 varas on a side to the trustees of the Cemetery Association for use as a cemetery (Armstrong Co. Deed Records 12/580). On August 3, 1905 they had given the County Judge the same tract for the same purpose. That tract is today the oldest part of the Claude Cemetery.
