On pages 14-16 from sequence number 112 to 140 there are 9 potters including George W. Grinstead (son of Smith), George T. Grinstead (son of John Parker) and Ed Grinstead (son of M. D.). The surnames Cornelison, Bybee, and Baumstark appear several times. W. S. Grinstead (preacher, son of William A.) also lives here. There are no potters on page 13 nor on page 17.

George T. Grinstead 8th Inf. Co. F, E

His brother Joel and his cousin Wesley also served in the 8th Infantry.

According to "Official Army Register of the Volunteer Force of the United States Army 1861--1865", Volume IV, the Eighth Infantry Regiment was organized at Camp Dick Robinson and Lebanon, Kentucky from October 1, 1861 to January 25, 1862 to serve three years. It was consolidated into a battalion of 5 companies in January 1864 and retained in service until November 17, 1864 when it was mustered out by reason of expiration of term of service.
