BURIAL:

According to an article entitled "Levi Hinds" in "Historical Caldwell County" (Genealogical & Historical Society of Caldwell Co., 1984), "Clarissa Hinds died August 8, 1857, and was to be buried at McNeil Cemetery, but Plum Creek was out of bank. She is buried about fifty yards off the old stagecoach road on the Matthews place."

The same article says that the family came to Texas in 1850, and it describes her children.

AGE:

Two sources say that she married in October 1832. The only specific indication of her age is the 1850 census, which says that she is 31. If she was fifteen when she married, she was born in 1817.
