Galen E. Hines Dies at Age of 84 Years
Galen E. Hines, 84, of 204 Packard street, died at 9 a. m. Thursday at Brokaw hospital. He had been ill only a short time.
The funeral will be held at 3:30 p. m. Friday at the West Olive Methodist Episcopal church. Burial will take place Sunday at Somerset, Ky.
Mr. Hines was born July 18, 1854, at Somerset, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hines. His wife, the former Miss Elizabeth Meece, died in 1926.
Surviving are nine children, Mrs. Mertie Hamilton and Mrs. Addie Waddle, Alcalde, Ky.; John, Everett and Clarence, Towanda; Charles and Joseph, Bloomington; Mrs. Anna Colyer, Bloomington, and Mrs. Bessie Marfell, Peoria; 28 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
He was affiliated with the Baptist church.
