General:
Margaret Hines may or may not be a daughter of Joseph Hines (about 1782 -- after 1840).

A marriage record says that Allen Dunn married Margaret Hines in 1828 in Pulaski Co., Kentucky and that she had the consent of her father Joseph Hines. The only plausible Joseph Hines is Joseph Hines IV, a son of Joseph III, even though land records suggest that Joseph IV left Kentucky and went to Missouri in the mid 1820s. He is part of the extended Hinds family of Wayne Co., Kentucky. In the 1810 and 1820 censuses Joseph IV does have a daughter who could be Margaret.

In the 1840 census Allen Dunn is living in Pulaski Co. close to various people whose surname is associated with the Hines extended family of Pulaski Co., but there is no known Joseph in that family who can be Margaret's father.
