The following is from a research article about John Balthasar Hinkle and his children. It was sent to me by Robert L. Hess of Oakland, California, a descendent of John Balthasar. Numbers in brackets indicate notes which follow. See also page 1459 of the HENCKEL GENEALOGICAL BULLETIN.

Catharina (Kitty[37]) Hinckle, born 27 Aug and baptized 17 Oct 1779 at Frederick.[13] She was reared with her brothers and sister at her parents' farm in Frederick County. Shortly after father's death in 1804, Catharine seems to have gone to nearby Jefferson County, (now West) Virginia, probably to be with her brother John and his family. There on 31 Dec 1805 she married Philip Strider of Jefferson County.[36] Kitty and Philip had eight children, born between 1806 and 1822. Their family lived first in Jefferson County, then in 1807 they moved across the Potomac to Frederick County, Maryland, where Philip had purchased a 194-acre lot on the Merryland tract. By 1820 the family had sold that land and returned to Jefferson County, Virginia. They bought a farm at Bolivar Heights, above Harper's Ferry. Philip died 26 Dec 1830. Catharine went to live with her daughter at Winchester, Virginia, and died there about thirty-five years later, 19 May 1866. She is buried in Mount Hebron Cemetery at Winchester.
