In 1920, after the death of his parents, George Hinkle and his younger sister Mollie are living in Red Oak, Ellis Co., Texas in the household of his older sister Ola and her husband.

Dr. George W. Hinkle, who is to be connected with the Denton Hospital, and Miss Kenneth Wilson, daughter of Mrs. Louise Wilson of Waco, were married Saturday evening in the First Methodist Church of Dallas, when the ceremony was read by the pastor, Dr. C. Q. Smith. After a short wedding trip the couple is expected here later in the week. Hinkle is a graduate of Trinity University and the University of Texas medical school at Galveston. The bride is a graduate of the Methodist Hospital nursing school in Dallas, and has studied in Chicago.

Dr. George William Hinkle, 51, prominent Denton physician and surgeon, died suddenly today at 7 a.m. in his home on the Decatur highway following a heart attack. He had suffered and recovered from several heart attacks since 1948.
Dr. Hinkle, who had practiced medicine in Denton since 1936 was one of the doctors who founded the Medical-Surgical Clinic in 1949. He was the senior surgeon at the Clinic. Dr. and Mrs. Hinkle returned last Friday from a six week trip to Europe with the New Orleans Graduate Medical Tours.
Funeral services for Dr. Hinkle will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First Methodist Church. The Rev. Philip W. Walker will conduct the service and burial will be in the Roselawn Memorial Park under the direction of Schmitz-Floyd-Hamlett. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday.
Born in Red Oak, Texas, May 10, 1903, Dr. Hinkle attended Waxahatchie High School and Trinity University. He was graduated from the Univerity of Texas Medical School at Galveston in 1934 and interned in the Detroit Receiving Hospital in 1934-35. Dr. Hinkle did his residency in surgery and obstetrics at the Methodist Memorial Hospital in Fort Worth in 1935-36. He was married to Miss Kenneth Wilson on May 16, 1936 in Dallas. Mrs. Hinkle is active in civic affairs and the Red Cross and is a member of the School Board.
A sports enthusiast, Dr. Hinkle played semi-professional baseball in his early life. Before deciding to go into the field of medicine, Dr Hinkle considered a career in professional baseball. He was active in organizing the Bronco Booster Club.
Dr. Hinkle came to Denton in 1936 and was associated with the late Dr. M. L. Holland from 1936 to 1942.
A past president of the Denton County Medical Association, Dr. Hinkle was also a past president of the Denton Kiwanis Club and was active in the Kiwanis Children's Clinic. He was a member of the executive council of the Boy Scouts and an active member of the Board of Stewards of the First Methodist Church. A Shriner, he was a member of the Moslem Tempmle of Fort Worth.
Dr. Hinkle is survived by his wife; two sons, Bill and Dan, both Denton High School students; a brother C. M. Hinkle of Fort Worth; two sisters Mrs. H. H. Jenkins of Dallas and Mrs. J. R. Hamm of Tyler.
The Medical-Surgical Clinic will be closed today and Thursday. All Denton Co. nurses will attend the funeral in uniform in a group, Miss Lillian Estes, president of the nurses group, said.
