Notes
General:
Charlotte Lee is identified as a daughter of Peter Hitt in the 1830 lawsuit relative to the estate of Peter's father Harman Hitt. Tilman Hitt, and Fanny Pierce, married to Thomas Pierce, are also identified in the lawsuit as children of Peter Hitt.
By 1824 Tilman Hitt and Thomas Pierce have moved to Dallas Co., Alabama. One would normally believe that the Charlotte Lee who is in Dallas Co. in the 1830 and 1840 censuses is Peter Hitt's daughter. However, there is persuasie evidence that she is Charlotte Pace, daughter of Richard Pace and Sarah Day.
