PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX LISTS AND BIRTH DATE:
In 1802 Harrison appears for the first time in the Fauquier Co. Personal Property Tax List; he is a tithable in the household of his father. A tithable is defined as a free white male over 16 years of age. That Harrison is listed as a tithable for the first time in 1802 suggests that he was born about 1786. From 1803 to 1806 and later from 1809 to 1810 he is in his widowed mother's household. In 1807 Harrison and his brothers Presley and Alexander have a joint entry. He is probably in his mother's household in 1812 and in 1813. From 1814 until at least 1819 (the last year for which I have seen the list) Harrison has his own entry in the personal property tax list. He has no slaves and usually one horse.
