Know all men by these Presents, That we Elisha Lawler and Elisha Curtis, Jos. Lawler are held and firmly bound unto William B. Giles, Esq. Governor of Virginia, and to his successors, in the just and full sum of one hundred and fifty dollars; for the payment whereof well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents: Sealed with our seals, and dated this 10" day of December 1828
The Condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas a license hath this day been issued by the Clerk of Fauquier County Court, for the intermarriage of the above bound Elisha Lawler, son of the above bound Joseph with Ann Curtis, daughter of the above Elisha, of the said County: Now if there be no lawful cause to obstruct said marriage, then the above obligation to be void, else to remain in full force and virtue.
